Slovak films at 20th Bratislava IFF

The 20th edition of Bratislava International Film Festival (November 29 – December 2, 2018) has prepared a selection of contemporary Czech and Slovak Cinema. Most of the selected films were made in Czech-Slovak co-production as a result of the natural continuation of the filmmaking cooperation between the two neighboring countries after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the state whose 100th foundation anniversary we celebrate this year.

Made in CZ/SK section will present Domestique, debut by Adam Sedlák and roadmovie Winter Flies by Olmo Omerzu, both world premiered at 53rd Karlovy Vary IFF. Third feature-length film of the section will be Talks with TGM by Jakub Červenka, introduced only recently at the 22nd Ji.hlava IDFF.

Festival audience will also have a chance to see current Slovak shorts (co)produced by FTF VŠMU, including documentaries Extraction by Kateřina Hroníková and Therapy by Travelling by Michal Baránek, fictions The Trip by Daniel Rihák and Vampire Sushi by Marek Fischer, Jakub Cheban and Michaela Hošková. Last but not least is animation Journey by Marek Jasaň.

Mimi & Líza: Christmas Lights Mystery (d. Katarína Kerekesová, Ivana Šebestová), a compilation of a new eponymous story of Mimi and Líza in form of a 26-minute TV special and 6 serial episodes will please the youngest audience .
