The International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm in Třeboň, Czech Republic (May 1 – 6, 2018) will introduce work of multiple generations of Slovak animators. The festival will also host a Visegrad Animation Forum platform for film professionals.
The 31st edition of the film festival Finále Plzeň (April 19 – 24, 2018) brings a programme full of Slovak films. The international jury will select the best films in three categories and choose the winners of the Golden Kingfisher Award.
The 18th edition of Film Festival goEast (April 18 – 24, 2018) will present a sample of Central and Eastern European Cinema to German audience. Czech-Slovak co-production Ice Mother by Bohdan Sláma is selected for Competition and creative documentary Occupation 1968, produced by Slovak documentarian Peter Kerekes will be introduced in world premiere.
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2018 on Friday, April 6.
The fourth edition of Slovak Film Week showcase (April 9 – 15, 2018) will present Slovak cinema of 2017, the succesful year of record-breaking attendance. Peter Mihálik Award for recognition of work in the field of film studies will be given during the opening ceremony. The showcase will be held in nine other Slovak cities beside Bratislava: Banská Bystrica, Kežmarok, Košice, Martin, Nitra, Spišská Nová Ves, Trenčín, Trnava a Žilina.

After a two succesful years, the upcoming 25th IFCF Febiofest Bratislava will once again host a third edition of Industry Days (March 20 – 21, 2018). The platform is intended predominantly for producers, film professionals and university students, but also for the wider public with an interest in specific topics related to film production.
The 25th edition of International Film Clubs Festival Febiofest (March 15 – 29, 2018) will kick off in a few days. Touring festival starts in Bratislava and then continues to Banská Bystrica, Kežmarok, Košice, Levice, Martin, Poprad, Prešov, Prievidza, Trenčín and Trnava.
