The 13th Fest Anča International Animation Festival, which takes place from August 27 to August 30, 2020, will once again offer a rich Slovak representation.
In its international competitions Slovak cinema will be represented by three films: Sh_t Happens (d. David Štumpf, Michaela Mihályi) was selected for the International Competition of Short Films, Clube de esquiar – Could I (d. Marián Vredík, Jana Vredík Hirnerová) to the International Competition of Music Videos, and Overboard! (d. Filip Pošivač, Barbora Valecká) to the International Competition of Films for Kids.
Ten films will compete for the best Slovak animated film in the Competition of Slovak Films: Music Box (d. Joanna Kożuch), The Tots: Rocket (d. Vanda Raýmanová, Michal Struss), Clube de esquiar – Could I, Wild Beasts (d. Marta Prokopová, Michal Blaško), Crossing (d. Agata Bolaňosová), Spiders (d. Lívia Suchá), Ka-Boom!: The Flood (d. Veronika Kocourková), Trust Me (d. Zlata Golecová), Fruit of the Days (d. Szilard Kardiak, Sebastian Kardiak), and Sh_t Happens.
The Slovak Panorama section will offer a non-competitive selection of Slovak animated works from the last two years: Old Times (d. Radovan Marček, Lenka Mišincová), Chestnut Boy (d. Agata Bolaňosová), B.O.P (d. Ladislav Jambor, Lukáš Ďurica), Forget Me Not (d. Adela Križovenská), The Little Red Headphones (d. Laura Lagová), Splotches (d. Andrea Gabajová), Jeff Has a Test (d. Miriama Trnavska), On the Beach (d. Samuel Chovan), Broken House – Septentrional (d. Petra Pastoreková), About a Tree (d. Michaela Mašánová).
In the World Panorama for Kids we can look forward to see Ka-Boom!: The Flood and The Tots: Rocket, while Pandas by Matúš Vizár will be screened in the apocalyptic Focus The Day After: Nature’s Comeback.
