The sixth edition of the Slovak Film Week (20 – 26 October 2020) will take place in an abbreviated virtual form as a result of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The prepared accompanying events – discussion panels, seminars or discussions – are postponed to a later date due to the precarious situation during the emergency.
The showcase will present winners of the national film award The Sun in a Net 2020: Amnesty (d. Jonáš Karásek), The Good Death (d. Tomáš Krupa), Watchmaker’s Apprentice (d. Jitka Rudolfová), Loli Paradička (d. Richard, Víťo Staviarsky), Let There Be Light (d. Marko Škop), Punk Never Ends! (d. Juraj Šlauka) and the short animated film The Kite (d. Martin Smatana, 2019). The digitally restored film Run, He Is Coming! (d. Dušan Rapoš) from the collections of the National Film Archive of the SFI.
The Slovak Film Week will take place on the platform www.kino-doma.sk (20 October – 10 November 2020), screenings are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday as a live stream at 8.20 pm. and each film will be preceded by a short video with the filmmakers. The films will be also available on the website www.tyzdenfilmu.sk.
