35th Warsaw Film Festival (October 11 – 20, 2019) will introduce three Slovak feature films.
Documentary competition will present two films in an international premiere. Never Happened, a feature debut by young director Barbora Berezňáková, snoops around unresolved murder of Róbert Remiáš and The Lonely Runners: Moving On! (d. Martin Repka) depicts a friendship of three poets that in 1963 founded a literary group of the same name The Lonely Runners.
Furthermore, co-production drama The Painted Bird (d. Václav Marhoul), recently world premiered at the 76th Venice Film Festival, will be presented within non-competitive Special Screenings section.
Slovakia will have its representative also in the Industry section of the festival. Denisa Jašová will take part in the FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project, workshop for young aspiring journalists and film critics.
