Synopsis
It is the year 1944. After ten years of unsuccessful attempts, the Golian family finally welcomes their long-awaited child. But this happens in the midst of the raging Second World War, only three weeks before the Slovak National Uprising breaks out — an uprising to be led by Ján Golian himself. In a country still allied with Nazi Germany, the couple faces a grave dilemma: fight for the nation or protect their family? At stake is not only the future of Slovakia, but also the future of their son.
