The European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) will present awards for the best films of 2023 in three categories at the 74th Berlinale. Two Slovak co-productions, Even Mice Belong to Heaven and Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light, have been nominated for the 2024 ECFA Award as well. The winners will be determined by the members of the Association.

Slovak adventure film for children She – Hero, directed and produced by Mira Fornay, won The Grand Prix of the Generation Kplus International Jury.
The European Children’s Film Association will award the best films of 2022 at the Berlinale in three categories. Two Slovak co-production films are nominated: summer comedy How I Learned to Fly in the Feature Film category, and poetical animation Suzie in the Garden in the Short Film category. Members of the association will decide the winner and the awards will be given on February 18 during the Berlinale 2023.
The European Film Academy (EFA) has nominated two Slovak films in the prestigious selection of the best of European cinema released between June 2021 and the end of May 2022. Petr Kerekes’ film 107 Mothers is nominated in the European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI category, while Diana Cam Van Nguyen’s short Love, Dad got nomination in the European Short Film category.
The Slovak nomination for the Best International Feature Film Award of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), also known as the Oscar, is 107 Mothers by Peter Kerekes.
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2020 on Wednesday, September 9. The most awarded film was Amnesty (d. Jonáš Karásek) which won six prizes and Let There Be Light received five awards including the one for Best Fiction Film. Documentarian Tomáš Krupa won Best documentary for The Good Death and director Martin Smatana won Best Animation for The Kite.
The 10th Slovak National Film Awards The Sun in a Net 2019, presented by the Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA), will honour the most remarkable films and creative accomplishment of Slovak cinema. The Gala ceremony will take place on Friday, April 17, 2020 and will be broadcasted live on TV channel Jednotka (RTVS).
