Emerging Producers 2025: Monika Loštáková

Emerging Producers is an educational and promotional initiative of the Ji.hlava IDFF. Each year, the festival selects 18 talented producers and offers them extensive support throughout the year. Since 2017, the program has included a four-day meeting in Berlin, featuring producers’ presentations as part of the festival. In 2025, Lošťáková represents Slovakia as the Emerging Producer.

Monika Lošťáková is a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where she studied Film Studies. During her academic years, she produced several short films that gained recognition at international festivals such as TIFF and the Uppsala Short Film Festival. She also began her ongoing collaboration with the educational event Visegrad Film Forum as a project and program coordinator. Since 2015, Monika has been part of the nutprodukcia company, focusing on developing and producing documentaries, creating distribution strategies, and preparing fundraising applications. In 2017, she also began working at the production company Super film, where she specializes in documentary films and series (Investigators, Space Cowboy, House of Velvet) as well as minority co-productions (Ordinary Failures). In addition to her production work, Monika serves as an executive director and program coordinator for the International Film Festival Febiofest and collaborates with the Four Elements Film Festival. She is an alumna of IDFAcademy, IDFA Young Producers 2021, and East West Talent Lab 2022.
