Slovak animation shorts aimed at different target audiences had a successful October: while The Pandas by Matúš Vizár received the Short Grand Prix for the Best Short Film at the Warsaw IFF, the Slovak TV series for children Mimi and Lisa by Katarína Kerekesová received the award for the Best Animation Television Series at the Tofuzi festival in Georgia.

Since the Cannes IFF The Pandas (2013) by Matúš Vizár, travelling around several festivals and awarded at many of them, received the Short Grand Prix for the Best Short Film at the Warsaw IFF. The Jury including Lendita Zeqiraj (Kosovo), Paweł Maślona (Poland), Benjamin Parent (France) considered the film a “cynical, sad, dark, horrible but yet again hillarious reminder of what humanity has become” and “An original masterpiece of visual storytelling“.

The festival tour of The Pandas is not even close to its end: in the next days, you can find the film at Anima in Cordoba, Argentina, at Tremblant Film Court in Mont-Tremblant, Canada, at Tofifest IFF in Toruń, Poland, IF of Short Film in Uppsala, Sweden, at IF of Documentary and Animation Film in Leipzig, Germany, at IF of Short Films Curta Cinema in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, at European Film Festival in Seville, Spain, at the animation festival Klik! in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, at Cinanima festival in Espinho, Portugal and many others.

The Slovak television series for children Mimi and Lisa by Katarína Kerekesová received the Award for Best Animation Television Series at the Tofuzi festival in Georgia. The Slovak audiences will be able to see it shortly – the TV series is coming to Slovak TV screens in December.
