Seven Slovak short films compete at the 67th BRNO16 festival
15. October 2026

Seven Slovak short-length films directed exclusively by women will be presented at the 67th edition of the International Short Film Festival BRNO16 (14–18 October 2026).

The Czecho-Slovak 16 competition section will offer a diverse selection of seven short films. The animated film Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe! by director Andrea Szelesová (SK co-prod. asnze), which premiered at the Berlinale, travels to Brno following its participation in several international festivals. The programme will also include the satirical documentary Greetings from Rhodes by Viera Čákanyová (SK prod. guča films), which premiered at the IFFR. Two films – the Slovak production Nadir, directed by Elie Ivančová, and the Czech-Slovak co-production Orla by Marie Lukáčová (SK co-prod. guča films) – will compete in both the Czecho-Slovak 16 section and the main International Competition.

The selection is rounded out by three student films from the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava: How to Listen to Fountains by Eva Sajanová (premiered at the San Sebastián IFF), This Room Is Impossible to Eat by Emília Ondriašová (premiered at the Krakow Film Festival), and 315 and Me by Rebeka Bizubová (premiered at the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště).
