The fifth edition of Slovak Film Week (April 6 – 12, 2019) will present over thirty Slovak fiction, non-fiction, and animated films that were released in 2018. Moreover, the showcase offers a solid line-up of accompanying events.

ACCOMAPANYING EVENTS:
Slovak Film Week will, in two separate panels, evaluate Slovak feature and documentary works of 2018, and the panel discussion about Slovak-Czech co-production Backstage will reveal How to make a dance film. The seminary dedicated to the work and contribution to the Slovak cinema of Rudolf Urc, film script consultant, journalist and author, will be followed by the launch of the new book by film critic Pavel Branko. This year’s Masterclass will be held by successful Slovak director Jonáš Karásek. The film quiz “Clever Monday” will challenge the knowledge about Slovak cinema and Lita workshop will help film professionals to manage the rights of authors of audiovisual works. The youngest audience will be pleased by Children’s Film Cabinet, an interactive educational project that will also present the episodes of the animated series Mimi & Lisa directed by Katarína Kerekesová.
Slovak Film Week will kick off after the Slovak National Film Awards The Sun in a Net 2019 (April 5, 2019) which will be broadcasted live on TV channel Jednotka (RTVS). The films awarded in main categories will be screened in special sessions in the selected cinemas in: Banská Bystrica, Bratislava, Dunajská Streda, Košice, Martin, Nitra, Poprad, Prešov, Skalica, Trenčín, Trnava and Žilina.

Slovak Film Week is organized by Slovak Film and TV Academy (SFTA) in cooperation with Radio and TV of Slovakia (RTVS) and Slovak Film Institute. The showcase is supported by Slovak Audiovisual Fund, autors´ company LITA.
