Slovak National Nominations for the EFA Awards 2014

The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) nominated two Slovak films for the European Film Awards – the feature fiction A Step into the Darkness by Miloslav Luther, which premiered in June 2014, and the documentary feature All My Children by Ladislav Kaboš, which premiered in February 2014 and has reached a record number in admissions – over 23,000 in Slovak cinemas.

The selection was made by 65 memebers (out of 146), accepted and confirmed by the Board of the Academy, from among of the following eligible titles.

Fiction:
Miracle (dir. Juraj Lehotský), The Candidate (dir. Jonáš Karásek), Indian Summer (dir. Gejza Dezorz), The Good Man (dir. Csaba Molnár), Slovakia 2.0 (dir. Juraj Herz, Martin Šulík, Peter Kerekes, Zuzana Liová, Mišo Suchý, Ondrej Rudavský, Peter Krištúfek).

Documentary:

Velvet Terrorists (dir. Pavol Pekarčík, Ivan Ostrochovský, Peter Kerekes), Archbishop Bezák Adieu (dir. Oľga Záblacká), Square in the Circle or Life in the Escapes and Dreams (dir. Ľubomír Štecko), The Edge – 4 Films About Marek Brezovský (dir. Patrik Lančarič), Lyricist (dir. Arnold Kojnok), Felvídek. Caught in Between (dir. Vladislava Plančíková).

The 27th European Film Award Gala Ceremony will be held December 13, 2014 in Riga, Latvia.

Participation of Slovak films and SFTA at the European Film Awards is supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund.
