
The nomination is another international success for The Teacher. Since its world premiere at Karlovy Vary IFF 2016, where it received Crystal Globe for the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Zuzana Mauréry), the film has been successfully travelling the festival circuit and been distributed in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Slovak-Czech title The Teacher was not the Slovak National Nomination, however EFA decided to include the film on this year’s selection list. In the coming weeks, the over 3,000 members of the European Film Academy will vote for the nominations in the categories European Film, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenwriter.
The nominations will be announced on 4 November at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain.
The 30th European Film Awards with the presentation of the winners will take place on 9 December in Berlin.
