The 14th edition of the Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia (CaSFFA) has begun. Running from 9 October to 15 November 2026, the festival will travel to three cities: starting in Melbourne, moving on to Adelaide, and finishing in Brisbane.

In Melbourne (9–18 October), audiences will be able to see all the films selected for this year’s festival. The programme opens with the Slovak minority co-productions Dancing with the Bear (d. Jitka Rudolfová) and Last Routine (d. Jakub Červenka). Next week, they will be joined by the minority co-production The End of the World (d. Bohdan Sláma). The programme continues with an award-winning feature drama Father by Slovak director Tereza Nvotová that has also enjoyed considerable success with audiences. Younger viewers can look forward to the animated feature The Websters: Stories on a Spider’s Thread (d. Katarína Kerekesová). The line-up also includes Chica Checa (d. Šimon Holý), a minority co-production that premiered this year in the Main Competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The Melbourne programme concludes with Flood (d. Martin Gonda), another award-winning film that has proved popular with Slovak audiences.

Adelaide will host three days of screenings (6–8 November). On Saturday, 7 November, younger audiences can enjoy The Websters: Stories on a Spider’s Thread (d. Katarína Kerekesová). On Sunday, 8 November, the festival will screen Last Routine (d. Jakub Červenka).

In Brisbane (13–15 November), Last Routine (d. Jakub Červenka) will be screened on Saturday, 14 November. The following day, audiences will also have the opportunity to see the animated feature The Websters: Stories on a Spider’s Thread (d. Katarína Kerekesová).
