The 7th edition of CinEast takes place on September 9 – 26, 2014 in Luxembourg.
Slovak cinema is represented by several films this year, among them is the archive Celebration in the Botanical Garden (1969) by Elo Havetta, introduced in a digitally restored version from a new DCP print within the Cinéspecial section.
The Cinéscope section introduces The Candidate (2013) by Jonáš Karásek, the most successfull documentary in Slovak cinemas last year – All My Children (2013) by Ladislav Kaboš, is presented in the Cinédocs section. The co-production title Clownwise (2013) by Viktor Tauš is part of the Funny East section whereas the short film Fongopolis (2014) by Joanna Kožuch will appear in the Short Film Marathon section.
Besides the Slovak films presented in particular sections, the works of the Slovak photographer Andrej Balco will be also on display within the exhibition So Far, So Close.
The Candidate‘s (2013) director of photography Tomáš Juríček and the film’s director Jonáš Karásek will attend the event personally.
