The annual 30th edition of the Festroia IFF in Setúbal, Portugal (June 6 – 15, 2014) will screen a number of Slovak films this year. Besides two successful features, it will also present three Slovak shorts.
The section dedicated to debutes of authors – First Works – will screen the first fiction feature of director Juraj Lehotský Miracle (2013). The film premiered at the Karlovy Vary IFF last year and since then went through several film festival worldwide. The Man and His Environment section will screen the Berlinale-awarded documentary Velvet Terrorists (2013) by Pavol Pekarčík, Ivan Ostrochovský and Peter Kerekes. The Official Selection – Out of Competition section includes the co-production title Colette (2013) by Milan Cieslar.
The festival will also screen some of the most successful shorts of the last year: the European Shorts and Film Schools – Slovakia will present animation shorts The Pandas (2013) by Matúš Vizár and Snow (2013) by Ivana Šebestová, and the fiction short Tiger Fight (2013) by Martin Repka.
