Locarno IFF´s (1. – 11. 8. 2012) Industry Days will present a professional program of industry screenings (including a Digital Library), a work in progress session, forums and roundtables focused on sales and distribution issues.
In addition to the traditional events for film professionals, a new industry initiative focused at the distribution of European cinema will be introduced. Under the name STEP IN, a new platform is designed for meetings, discussions and presentations dealing with distribution, exhibition and sales of auteur cinema, with current focus on the region of Central and Eastern Europe. STEP IN Day will take place on Sunday, August 6, 2012.
Slovak film industry will be represented by Zuzana Mistríková / PubRes, production, distribution and consulting company and Alexandra Strelková from the Slovak Film Institute, director of the national Cinematographic Centre.
Digital Library focusing on Central and Eastern Europe
For STEP IN, Locarno’s Industry Office dedicates a focus on films from East and Central Europe in its Digital Library, offering the respective film institutes from CEE countries the opportunity to present selected films which no sales agent attached.
