Successful Slovak films in Tallinn

Black Nights Tallinn IFF 2013 (November 15 – December 1, 2013) brings successful Slovak titles in the main programme and in its subfestivals, too. The Panorama section presents Slovak national nomination for Oscar and Hivots Tiger Award holder – My Dog Killer (2013) by Mira Fornay. Feature debut Miracle (2013) by Juraj Lehotsky is presented to the audience in the Forum section.

The Slovak cinematography will be also represented at the subfestival Animated Dreams, which will be held from November 27 to December 1, 2013. The Best of International Student Animation II section includes the awarded short The Pandas (2013) by Matúš Vizár.

The event organized for film professionals in the framework of the festival – the co-production market Baltic Event also marked Slovak participation: producer Marerk Urban (sentimentalfilm), a participant of the B’EST workshop, joined the market with his project OUT by Györgyi Kristóf. The project also attended the scripwriting workshop MIDPOINT, after which it was presented at Pitch&Feedback in Karlovy Vary in summer 2013. The project was also selected for the New Cinema Network in Rome.
