
Within the main festival, the Off the Wall section will screen two co-production titles. The section, which records the perception of the contemporary world of authors that experienced their childhood behind the Iron Curtain under the Soviet influence, 25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, includes Fair Play (dir. Andrea Sedláčková, 2014), introduced in Karlovy Vary in its international premiere and Mirage (dir. Szabolcs Hajdu, 2014), which started its festival career at Toronto IFF.
The sub-festival dedicated to animation films, 16. Animated Dreams (November 19 – 23, 2014), will screen both new and archive Slovak shorts. The Best of Student Animation section will present In Line (2014) by Kamila Kučíková and the retrospective section Slovak Animation will screen a collection of archive animation films by Viktor Kubal, Jaroslava Havettová, Vlastimil Herold, Ivan Popovič, Dagmar Bučanová, Helena Slavíková-Rabarová, Ondrej Slivka and František Jurišič. The Fest Anča festival‘s programming director Maroš Brojo is part of the Jury.
The Baltic Event co-production market will host a Slovak-Czech project by Aramisova – Kids from the East. The project was awarded at a similar event last week in Thessaloniki – Crossroads. In the final session of the B’EST platform, the new project by Martin Repka The Tattooist will also be present.
