The International Festival of Animation Films in Annecy (June 10 – 15, 2013) is one of the most significant events for animation. This year, the festival presents two Slovak titles – The Pandas by Matúš Vizár and Mimi and Lisa – Twins from the Cards by Katarína Kerekesová.
Animation short The Pandas by Matúš Vizár was premiered in the Cinéfondation section of the prestigious Cannes IFF – the film was submitted by Vizár’s film school, FAMU in Prague. Its presence at the festival had a successful result – it was awarded by the 3rd prize. In Annecy, The Pandas will compete in the Graduation films in competition section.
The programme of the festival will also include a new childrens’ television series by Katarína Kerekesová – Mimi and Lisa – Twins from the Cards, who presented her animation project in Stuttgart. The film will compete in the TV films in competition section.
