The 40th anniversary edition of Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště takes a place from July 25 to August 2, 2014. The programme introduces Slovak films from the recent five years. The cycle Visegrad horizon: Talent presents the work of the Slovak female documentarist Zuzana Piussi. The main part of the Slovak showcase will be screened on Tuesday, July 29, within the traditional Slovak day, taking place for the 20th time.
15 Slovak productions and co-production are included in the programme, the films will be introduced by the film theorist and esthetician Peter Michalovič and the scriptwriter Ondrej Šulaj.
The merchandising stand in Hvězda theatre will also offer books and DVDs released by the Slovak Film Institute, and Slovak DVDs and publications released by the other publishers.

Visegrad Horizon: Talent: Zuzana Piussi
The documentarist Zuzana Piussi is presented as a filmmaker who chooses the socially sensitive topics and displays them very uncompromisingly. In her work, she deals with such a subjects as a judicial system, elections, nationalists, Slovak culture with no remorse, often inspiring passionate responses. LFŠ will screen seven films, directed by Piussi (4 full-length films and 3 shorts).
