Slovak Oscar® nomination to screen at LA

The Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia 2015 is moving from its first stop in Melbourne to Sydney and then continues to its final destination Perth.
The 31st edition of Warsaw FF will be held from October 9 to October 18, 2015 and will host four Slovak films within the festival official and Industry programme.
The European Film Academy chose Koza (dir. Ivan Ostrochovský) for the EFA Selection for 28th European Film Awards. Although the film was not the Slovak National Nomination EFA decided to include the film on this year’s selection list of 52 films recommended for a nomination for the European Film Awards.
The Czech and Slovak Film Festival of Australia 2015 extends its programme into three cities – Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. The first festival part will be held from September 16 to 25, 2015 at the Australian centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne (CASFFA). The festival was established in 2013 to showcase Slovak and Czech films in Australia, and its program aims to present the best works of both the archive treasures and recent film production.
The San Sebastián International Film Festival (September 18 – 26, 2015) premieres two Slovak titles – the coproduction feature debut Family Film by Olmo Omerzu and Fear, short student film by Michal Blaško.
Two Slovak films – Eva Nová and Koza – were selected for Toronto International Film Festival which will be held between September 10 – 20, 2015. Moreover, Slovak film has the representative at Producers Lab Toronto 2015 for the first time.
Second Run releases Dragon´s Return as its fourth title of the Slovak classics series and presents it to the English-speaking audiences. Eduard Grečner’s film is following the Second Run DVD titles of Slovak Golden Era Sun in a Net, Birds, Orphans and Fools and Pictures of the Old World.
Summer Film School Uherské Hradište starts on July 24 and will last until August 1. A number of Slovak titles will appear in the programme and get honour during the traditional Slovak day on Tuesday July 28, 2015.
