The 22nd edition of the European Film Festival Palić will take place on June 18 – 25 2015 in Palić, Serbia.

The Irish city of Cork will host the 1st edition of the Visegrad Film Festival, a festival focusing on the film production in the V4 countries, June 24 – 28, 2015. The programme will present a wide range of Slovak films, including titles of the Slovak classics.

The 23rd Art Film Fest IFF will be hosting the MIDPOINT scriptwriting workshops for the sixth time.

 The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) nominated two Slovak films for the European Film Awards – feature fiction debut Children by Jaro Vojtek and documentary also directed by Vojtek So Far, So Near.

Significant film titles from the Slovak archives will introduce themselves to the audiences of the Midnight Sun FF (June 10 – 14, 2015) in the Finnish country of Lapland, celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The 6th edition of the International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm in Trebon, Czech Republic (May 5 – 10, 2015) introduces an interesting official competition program as well as a platform for film professionals Visegrad Animation Forum.

For the second time, the competition sections of Finale Plzen (Pilsen, Czech Republic) were opened for Slovak films to participate in the Festival´s four official competitions and scored two of the main Golden Kingfisher awards: for the Best Documentary and the Best TV Serial Production.

FUTURE FRAMES: Ten new filmmakers to follow is a new programme by the European Film Promotion and Karlovy Vary IFF to be introduced at the 50th anniversary edition of the festival (July 3 – 11, 2015). A selection of ten young directors and their films – all in Czech premieres – will be presented to the public, film industry and press during the event running from July 5 – 7, 2015.

This year during the Cannes IFF, Slovakia will be represented in the Producers on the Move (organized by the European Film Promotion, Slovak Film Institute being a member), as well: the Slovak “POM” is Marek Urban (sentimentalfilm).
