Czech national film award Czech lion granted by Czech Film and Television has announced its nominations for the year 2013.

Black Nights Tallinn IFF 2013 (15. 11. – 1. 12. 2013) brings successful Slovak titles in the main programme and in its subfestivals, too.

Both the contemporary and archive Slovak cinema will be brought to Georgian audiences: the Slovak film showcase, entitled Made in Slovakia, will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia at the Amirani cinema during November 14 – 17, 2013. It will bring six full-length films and a collection of four shorts.

Normalization, the long-expected documentary feature debut by Robert Kirchhoff, began its festival career with three awards at significant documentary events.

Slovak cinema in focus at the 34th Noordelijk Film Festival (Nov 6 -10, 2013).

The 23rd edition of German Film Festival Cottbus (5. – 10. 11. 2013) will present five Slovak films in its programme.

The most significant Greek film festival, which will soon reach its 54th edition – Thessaloniki IFF (1. – 10. 11. 2013), will present two Slovak films in its official programme.

The 17th edition of Jihlava International Documentary Festival will be held from October 24 – 29, 2013. Slovakia is represented not only in the festival programme, but also industry programme for film professionals and in several accompanying events.

The Intl Festival of Documentary and Animation Films DOK Leipzig (28. 10. – 3. 11. 2013) will be welcoming three Slovak films  in its programme.
