Martin Šulík, who is considered one of the most outstanding film directors from Slovakia, will be a special guest to the 11th edition of Tofifest 2013 (October 21 – 27, 2013).
During the film festival in Torun, the audience will have an opportunity to see the following films by Šulík: Working Class Heroes (2005) awarded by the Sun in a Net Award, the famous Gypsy (2012) which brought him the following awards, at the Karlovy Vary IFF: Special Prize of the Jury, Honorary Mention of the Actor, Don Quijote Award, and the Europa Cinemas Label, Landscape (2000), The Garden (1995) awarded a Special Prize of the Jury in Karlove Vary IFF, Everything I Like (1992), and Orbis Pictus (1997).
The Slovakian director will also conduct his own Masterclass “about his inspirations, thoughts and plans with the film directing. Lecture based on the shooting of Gypsy film.”
The section Shortcut brings to the audience Slovak animated The Pandas (2013) by Matúš Vizár. The Pandas has received multiple awards, the last one is the Grand Prix for the Best Short Film at the IFF Warsawa 2013.
