The 18th Bratislava International Film Festival (November 11 – 17, 2016) focuses on the city both as real and cinematic space, and brings on this topic a various film titles from all around the world. The festival does not leave behind the domestic titles as well, and prepares a colourful section Made in Slovakia.
The 11th International Film Festival Cinematik (Sept 13 – 18, 2016) will feature several Slovak films in competitive sections of European fiction films and Slovak documentaries and two Slovak co-productions will be premiered in the non-competitive sidebar dedicated to domestic production.
On Wednesday, June 29 International Animation Festival Fest Anča opens its gates in Žilina, and will keep them openmed until Sunday, July 3, 2016.
After 23 years Art Film Fest Košice faces a new challenge: relocation from spa town Trenčianske Teplice to the east of Slovakia. The festival in Košice kicks off on June 17 and lasts untill June 25. The visitors should be prepared for new sections, locations and 131 film titles.
The Slovak Film and Television Academy (SFTA) granted the Slovak national film awards The Sun in a Net 2016 for the years 2014 and 2015.
The Slovak Film Week (April 11 – 17, 2016) continues with the second edition. The part ot the Week is also The Sun in a Net 2016 Gala Ceremony taking place on April 16, 2016.
The 5th edition of Visegrad Film Forum (VFF) runs from April 5 to April 9. The 5-day event will focus on audience development and film literacy.
The first edition of Industry Days will be held on March 22 – 23, 2016 within the International Film Clubs Festival Febiofest.
