The Man with Hare Ears world premiere at the 36th Warsaw Film Festival
9. October 2020

The Warsaw Film Festival opens today its 36th year (October 9 – 18, 2020) regularly but under the slogan “We keep social distancing, we wear maks, and we go to cinema”, because of the currently unstable pandemic situation. The program will present also five Slovak feature films, including the world premiere of The Man with Hare Ears.

In the International Competition, we find co-production film Droneman (dir. Petr Zelenka) and Martin Šulík’s long-awaited film The Man with Hare Ears, whose protagonist is a writer in his sixties, to whom a man with rabbit ears begins to appear in everyday situations.

In the second competition section Competition 1-2, which is intended exclusively for the first and second directorial feature films, will compete audience’s extremely successful political thriller Scumbag (dir. Mariana Čengel Solčanská, Rudolf Biermann) that entered Slovak cinemas in February and immediately became one of the most visited Slovak films.

In the non-competitive Special screenings section, we will be represented by minority co-production films The Banger (dir. Ondřej Trojan) and a black-and-white historical Shadow Country (dir. Bohdan Sláma).
