Father tells the story of a loving father whose peaceful life collapses after a single tragic mistake—his happy marriage falls apart, and he is left completely alone. Despite the looming threat of imprisonment and the crushing weight of guilt, he strives to regain his wife’s trust and save the love that still connects them through the pain. When he discovers that the roots of the tragedy reach deep into the human psyche, a fragile path toward reconciliation begins to unfold.

The film had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in 2025.

Oscar nominations will be announced on January 22, 2026, and the ceremony itself will take place on March 15, 2026.
